You promised me a fortune
You said I'd be a queen
You swore you would protect me
That I'd own eternity
You said I'd reign supreme
An immortal among the damned
You said I'd live forever
If I only gave you my hand
A worrior or a lady
A savior or a thief
A power at my command
To use as I saw fit
You're really not much better
Than a thief in in velvet coats
You gave me nothing in return
For all of my high hopes
You said I'd dress in diamonds
With your silken lying voice
You told me to take my pick
Without giving me a choice
I know your words were meaningless
What could I ever mean to you
I'm just part of the collection
One more hem to dazzle you
One more voice to answer yours
One more way to stop the pain
One more pause in forever
One more sweetly said refrain
You said this was a mighty gift
That I'd see into men's souls
But look how the tables turn
When I try to peer into yours
You said it would be painless
That I would take delight
And you offered me the world
So that I never felt the bite

AUTHOR'S NOTE: I got the idea for this poem after I saw Van Helsing(which was a horrible movie). I sort of felt bad for the brides of Dracula, so this was sort of my impression of what must have happened to them. It also goes along with Mirror's Song, as the story and the poem are about the same girl.
